fosters home for imaginary friends was an awful dystopia and no one talks about it at all

just a few things established in the fosters universe

  • imaginary friends are sentient people and everyone can see them
  • 8 years old is considered too old to have an imaginary friend
  • a large amount of imaginary friends get thrown out on the street legally. At several points they talk about how they had nowhere to go and just wandered around. In Good Wilt Hunting you see a neighborhood full of imaginary friends that live on the street
  • this is such an issue there’s shelter(s). there’s absolutely political debates about this.
  • imaginary friends have rights, but not the same rights as humans (they can hold jobs and need passports and such but they can be confiscated/held as property and apparently killed without any legal issues)
  • babies imagine abstract, swarming friends, kids imagine normal friends, anyone older tends towards violent monsters that have to be locked up to keep them from attacking people
  • at one point, someone imagines a friend and eats it because they’re hungry

image
  • this is all just treated as facts of life

tory power stance is still the funniest thing to come out of uk party politics in a long time

CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER

I feel like I need to talk about the random shit I know about this pose. As they paid a guy a lot of money to come up with a pose that’d make the important tories look POWERFUL and IMPOSING. And they guy came up with this, but it was only meant for photos of the torso up and none of them realised.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tory_power_stance

funny, funny article. “ The stance is believed to be intended to be a display of power and confidence. “

how could you leave out the best part of that wiki entry

shrek two: the funniest movie i have ever seen. literally one of the funniest comedies of all time. incredible pacing and dialogue. reference jokes that were actually funny. surreal world that was so modern fantasy it actually worked. rocking score. awesome scene set to “i need a hero” being sung by the villain unironically and completely played straight. a bar of villains. just overall the best concepts ever.

Imagine three brothers whose father just died. Nobody really liked him but he owned a lot of businesses all over town, which he split the ownership of between his three sons.

  • The first son gets the CEO position of a powerful corporation, including his own private jet
  • The second son gets the father’s shipping company and his yacht
  • The last son gets ownership of a small funeral home that isn’t doing very well

The first son becomes a total jerk who sleeps around and cheats on his wife constantly.

The second son adopts the culture of the sailors at the docks and develops an aggressive personality

The third son’s company is more of a reliability than an asset, but through hard work he makes it work. He’s not very comforting to the grieving costumers, but his prices are fair and he treats them with respect. He marries a wife who helps him run the funeral home. The place is a success, despite its dreariness.

This is literally Greek Mythology.

When Anne has a will, Anne hathaway.

I think we need to add her to the immortal list.

Confirmed. Likely a very modern one, due to her lack of period affectations. She’s just kicking this journey off and has plans for centuries.

Counterpoint, from @if-i-am-not-for-me, she was married to Shakespeare.  She’s just pretty good at keeping up with things.

Further counterpoint,

She’s still married to Shakespeare

When Anne hath a Will, Anne Hathaway
